Mr Anthony Fok graduated from NTU with Honours in Accountancy and a bachelors degree in Economics. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Education specialising in Economics education.
“I have always wanted to be teacher. After being in this line for so many years, I am glad to have become one, glad that I did not give up even when it got hard or tiring. Every time I see a student improve, I am once again reminded why I have chosen to be an educator. It brings me such great joy and satisfaction!”
“Although school teachers are often very competent and the Singapore education system is of a high quality, it is difficult for them to meet the needs of every student. Some students are finding it difficult to understand the concepts during fast paced lessons while others wish to enrich themselves further and are keen to be exposed to more challenging questions. That is where tuition comes in, to help these students maximize their learning further.”
“My students see me as an enthusiastic and caring Economics tutor who is more like a friend than a strict tutor. I try my best to keep them interested through my brand of humour, with personal anecdotes that never fails to crack them up when concepts get a little too dry for their liking. In terms of my pedagogy, I believe that different individuals have their unique set of needs and thus I do not like to generalise across my students. Therefore I use a multitude of strategies to teach my students, who come from a variety of family background with different personalities.”
